The Muddy Hunter Hang on is certainly top of the line, and stability in the tree throws it over the top for me. I have Lone Wolf stands as well and honestly there isn't one tree that I've put a set in that was conducive to "one handed" set up. Connection straps with ratchet on the Muddy are very convenient and offer unmatched stability in the tree. And finally, being able to tighten out the squeaks is a definite advantage that goes to Muddy.
This is a great stand; lite, quiet, durable, and very comfortable for a long day in the stand.
This stand, unlike others, allows the platform and seat to be adjusted to a level position. This feature matters when you are hanging the stand in anything other than a tall, perfectly straight tree. For example, most hanging stands will not work with the trees in Texas. Muddy stands provide a wide range of adjustment, they work perfectly in oak, or large mesquite trees - nice and level.
The hunter stand does weigh 12 lbs completely set up, the hunter outfitter model (not listed on Cabela's website) weighs 17 lbs.
Well made stand. Fits trees nicely and platform leveling is great. Quiet stand with nice roomy platform.
I own a lone wolf alpha and rank it slightly higher due to weight. Muddy is advertised at 12.5lbs; however, with straps, foot pedestal and seat all connected it weighs 17.2lbs. Also, no back pack straps.
Just got this stand and it is nice. However I was a little disappointed it didn't come with any straps to pack it around. I had to order a set and it ended up to be the same price as the lone wolf when all was said and done. I guess the choice is yours. The stand does seem to be well built though.
