Helps lighten your fly rod's overall weight. If you're looking for a cheap reel seat this one isn't bad. It would make a seat for a 1st time rod builder. This isn't a world class seat by any stretch but isn't bad for the dough.

Though the price is very reasonable, the "multi-piece" unit is somewhat cumbersome to assemble and tough to complete without having to have the acetone ready for clean-up. Aside from the assembly, the front recess for the real-seat is too small to allow the reel foot to firmly fit in place.
