After getting caught up in the GPS units that take pictures and call home it is nice to get an upgraded eTrex that incorporates the most needed modern features and sticks to the basics - navigation. Altitude and barometric pressure displays are a plus.
It takes power to run electronics and the battery life of this unit is great. I think that is due as much to its ability to locate your position quickly which saves a ton of battery time.
User friendly controls and a screen that has the best bright daylight operation I have seen.
