Garmin Dakota 20
Date:
My hat is off to the staff at the Cabela's store in Post Falls, Idaho. I was shopping for a hand held GPS and a very knowledgeable young man led me to them, then patiently explained the features of the various models available. As he began to understand my needs he was able to recommend the Dakota 20 and so far it has exceeded my expectations.
The Dakota 20 is intuitive, easy to use and functions similar to a smart phone. It has a sensitive receiver system allowing it to function in dense forests and has an easy to read screen.
It is the size of a small flip-phone and fits easily into any pocket.
I highly recommend it and highly recommend the store in Post Falls, Idaho.

I couldn't ask for more...no manual necessary.
This is my first gps and it couldnt be easier to use. If you have trouble, hand it to the nearest 8 year old, in 5 min they will show you whats up. lol

My first handheld
Date:
This is my first "trail" gps. I bought it for beach launching were space is very important. This thing is tiny. But still has a very clear screen and you can zoom into 20 ft. It seems to have every function you would need for boat or trail. It really stinks that Bluechart is SO much $. My only complaint is the base map that comes with it is properly named. I live on Outer Banks and we have two main roads and it does not even show them all the time. I will try it out with my Scouts this weekend on a camping trip. Oh one other thing. I have never geocached before but I found some near and they download onto the gps super easy.
