Even if your hands are full, you can still use your GPS/Radio. This headset with boom microphone allows you to speak and listen without holding the unit. It gives you quiet, semi-private communication and lets you hear clearly even in noisy surroundings. VOX capable.
This was a cheap headset and I guess that's what I got. It does work good for the money. I would definetely spend a few more dollars and get a nicer one next time. My biggest complaint is that when you start talking it doesn't immediately turn on with your voice and the person on the other end doesn't get the first part of what you said. but you can hum for a second until you hear it then start talking
I have the boom mic set up that is voice activated. My elk hunting crew all use the Rhino series radios and the voice activated boom mic is the way to go. Hands free operation you just have to get used to activating the boom mic. We all archery hunt and once you have the headset in the right place with the wires under your garmint out of the way it works excellent.
