I didn't have an interface cable and I needed to use my Garmin GPS for a Geocaching expedition with some youthful guests we had during spring break. The package arrived quickly and the cable worked (and continues to work) well.

I ordered the cable along with the GPS device. This was because there was no cable included in the advertisement for the GPS device. When I opened the GPS box, out popped "Bonus Cable". Now I have 2 of them. I intend to send the extra cable that I bought back. I do not feel I should have to pay the postage.

Interface cable may not be needed...

Cable essential to connect eTrex to computer BUT the Legend Cx comes WITH a cable, so there is no need to order one as a separate item.
