purchased this ammo for my 1911 colt 45

The reason I purchased this ammo, was becuase I hunt in the condor Range in california, you have to hunt with non lead ammo. For your side arm it has got to be 100% copper.I test fired few rounds and was extremely disappointed on the accuracy.It left a lot of slag inside the barrel. By far this ammo is the worst I have ever purchased.

Decent ammo, not my first choice for SD

I bought this because it was the only defensive hollow-point ammo I could find at the time. I have not fired much of it, but it has functioned and cycled perfectly in my Ruger LCP. I have test-fired it into a couple of types of media. When fired into 1 gallon jugs of water, the round opened very nicely. When fired into wet phone books, the round failed to open due to the pointed and sharp-edged hollow point acting as a cookie-cutter; it punched a circle of media that plugged the hollow point and prevented it from opening completely. One other problem is that the long, pointed nose of the bullet results in a definite 'smiley' type of deformation that could also affect performance.
I feel that this ammunition would perform well enough in a defensive situation, but my first choice is a more traditional and heavier JHP round.
