Quality ammo, reasonable price, made in USA

HPR ammo was recommended to me by my brother-in-law. I had never heard of HPR before but he said he had saw it in a Guns and Ammo magazine and he himself was quite impressed with it..

I purchased 9mm and .380 hollow point (XTP) to try. The 9mm was 124g and both the 9mm and .380 were for a box of 50. When you consider that most hollow point rounds are only for a box of 20-25, the price for the XTP ammo is quite good.

I was impressed with this ammo the minute I opened the box. In this case the packaging does matter. The tab on the inside tray is a really nice feature to help get the ammo out of the box when wearing gloves (as it was quite cold the day I went to the range).

The HPR ammo was very clean. Other "cheaper" ammo that I had purchased was very dirty out of the box with discolored brass and residue inside the box. None of that with the HPR. My first impression was that this ammo was of a definite higher quality.

After shooting 200 rounds of HPR 9mm, 124g, hollow points, using a Taurus 709 Slim, I had no dead rounds and quite a noticeable less residue in the gun versus other anmunition. The ammo fed smooth with no jamming.

I shot 20 rounds of the .380 hollow points with a Kel-Tec and still had no problems with dead rounds or feeding.

The HPR ammo was definitely a lot cleaner than other ammunition (less smoke, powder residue) which was even more evident when I cleaned the guns.

All in all, a very good quality ammo for the money and made in USA!
