Build a Flip-Top Bench Table® that can be easily customized for reloading at home or in the field. Add your own 2" x 4" lumber (not included) to make a flip-top bench that will go anywhere. It also makes a sturdy shooting bench for sighting in, or can be converted to a park-bench-style seat. Two kits can be used to create a picnic table. Assembles in just minutes with included hardware. Recommended dimensions: 6"L x 25-1/2"W x 28-1/4"H. Color: Sand.
I saw this and read the reviews and tryed it.It worked just like most others said it would.Needed to make a brace for the table for reloading but worked just fine for the limited space that I have.
This item really didn't work for me. Currently I'm waiting for time to tear down and start over. Even then it's will not work as stated. 1st do not build to max size or it will not be sturdy. I'm going to try 6 feet on rebuild, even then I'm not sure the strength it will provide. Back rest will not stay in the table position safely without cutting extra boards to prop for support. Instructions are included but are written poorly too. This isn't a reliable item I come to expect from Cabelas.
I was looking for a bench to reload on and didn't want to spend alot of money and this was it. One of the things that I liked about this bench was the fact that you can make it any size that you want up tp 8 feet. I made mine 5 feet and I also upgraded the table top by using 2 2X12 therefore giving me a top of 23" instead of the 14" by using 4 2X4's. Now the only issue with this bench is that for reloading you need a very solid and stable bench. What I did to achieve this was to mount the bench against the wall and on the underside of the table top nearest the wall I mounted three right angle or L brackets to the wall and to the bottom of the table top. Then on each side of the front were the seat mounts I wedged in 2 2X4's, one on each side. This has made the bench top very stable. Overall I would highly recommend this bench because it was easy to assemble and works fine the way it is or with some simple upgrades you can improve its stability.
Did not use 2x4's but used 2x12's. I don't know if it would make a good loading bench but it makes a great regular bench and with the back up in the flat position it is a great shooting bench.
