Had purchased one of those floor mount safes for guns that run about $60-$70. wasn't all that excited about the latch on it. good to have instead of just leaving a gun laying around but I didn't like it for when i wasn't around for extended time.
Saw this V-Line wall safe, went to their site to see more spec's
and purchased here.
NICE SAFE. took less than a 1/2 hour to mount (including cleanup) combination potential is GREAT and easy to set.
wish the price was a little less but i am considering a second one.

Canadian restricted firearms storage

I bought this in vault to specifically store my revolver and pistol ammunition. I researched many vaults and decided that a mechanical push button vault was safest , most reliable and simplest system for my purpose.
In Canada, restricted firearms such as hand guns are required by standing firearm storage laws to be secured with an approved locking device so the firearm cannot be fired and then it must be locked in a cabinet, container or room that is hard to break into.
I have a three tumbler combination trigger lock on the firearm and the pistol ammunition is stored in the vault along with the trigger locked hand gun in two HKS speed loaders.
From my bed, I can open the vault, remove the trigger lock from the revolver, and load the firearm from the speed loader in about 10 seconds.
The V-Line Quick Vault In-the-Wall Safe was very easy to install. I first found the stud in the interior wall by lightly tapping with a hammer. I found the edge of the stud with a small nail. I then scribed the outside dimensions of the vault on the wall. Using a dry wall hand saw I quickly cut out the hole in the wall for the vault. After some minor adjustments to the opening, I placed the vault in the opening and secured it to the studs using the four lags screws provided. Then I installed the provided steel shelf in my vault and changed the factory combination of the vault to my own personal one.
By using this V-Line Quick Vault In-the-Wall Safe, my hand gun and ammunition is now safely stored in my home, secured in compliance with Canadian restricted gun storage laws, and accords me quick access to my firearm should I need it.
