A portable, key-operated handgun storage safe that fits discreetly in a bag, under a vehicle seat, in a desk or a briefcase. It’s an extra measure of safety and security for travelers and concealed-weapon permit holders. 1" memory foam protects the gun during travel, and the case meets TSA airline firearm guidelines. Constructed of heavy-duty 21-gauge steel. Includes a 1,500-lb.-test security cable for temporary attachment to a secure object. Imported. Dimensions: 9-1/2"L x 6-1/2"W x 1-3/4"H.
Well made for the money and eveything works as stated. It is strong enough to secure a handgun but it is not an impenetrable safe. With time it can be pried open. But for practical purposes of being kid-safe or secure from burglary, it is just fine. I use it attached to the bedoom closet wall... out of sight when the door is closed but easy access because it is mounted vertically on the wall. Will buy another.
I bough this lockbox to secure my Glock 27 in the car, and it does the job. It is well constructed and strong enough to resist a burglar for at least a few minutes. It is not a safe, but it is definitely a better option to leave a gun in the car than any locking glove box with a plastic door.
The foam could be a little thicker, and I have to yet to understand why it is advertised as "memory shape" (it does not retain the shape at all, but that is not really a problem). If I shake the box a lot, the gun moves slightly, but does not bang against the sides.
The cable provided will do the job, but I replaced it with a chain attached with a padlock to my seat rail. I drilled another hole at the bottom of the box and fastened a 1 inch wide U bolt to which the chain is attached.
This type of box is a must if you want to leave your handgun in the car, and this one works fine.
