Fore End: Splinter

Butt/Pad: Checkered butt

Metal Condition: Little trace of case color remains, but the bold acanthus scroll is crisp. Bluing is fading at sharp edges but is otherwise rich and dark.

Wood Condition: Some marks but nothing substantial.

Bore Condition: Bright, shiny and smooth measuring .731 (L) and .730 (R) against .729 proofs.

Manufacture Date: With the new barrels almost impossible to tell but Lloyd & Son were in business from 1883 to 1940 according to Nigel Brown's book.

A beautiful boxlock, this one has a lot to offer: boxlock ejector great dimensions, lightweight, excellent condition and spectacular engraving. Locks up tight and on face. Minimum measured wall thickness .024 with minimum wall thickness 9" from the breech at .041.
