Another one of those makers who's often been overlooked, Charles Lancaster made some superb guns. This one is no exception. Mechanically it's in excellent condition, tight and on face with barrels still in original proof. The self-opener mechanism still operates impeccably - opens with authority and not too difficult to close and the ejectors are strong and well timed. Minimum measured wall thicknesses are .028 (R) and .026(L). Cosmetically, this is one pretty gun. The barrel brown exhibits a bronzish tint and highlights the handsome damascus pattern wery well. The elegant scroll engraving is still crisp and the wood is a very nicely figured honey and smoke walnut.
