Hunter Ruffstuff Gunlock Scabbard

This scabbard provides excellent protection for your scoped bolt-action rifle, plus quick access when you need it. It's made with a super-tough, water-repellent Cordura® nylon outer shell and soft protective interior. Designed with a form-fitted shape, it has stiffener throughout and a heavy-duty snap-on flap that locks around bolt. Buckled nylon web straps and D-rings allow infinite ways to strap it on a horse, ATV or motorcycle. Fits rifles with barrels up to 26", scopes up to 50mm. Made in USA.

gun scabbard for use with 50 mm objective

This product is not well suited for :
-Guns with 26 inch barrells - 8 inches of stock sticks out and scope is barely covered.
-It does not fit the 50 mm objective well.
-It is not particularly rugged for horseback.
There are other product better suited for this use.

Bought several scabbards to see which one would work best for me. I loved the locking ring on this one. But the material on the inside of the scabbard looks like it could rub the finish off of the rifle.
For an older rifle or one you that the finish is not important to you on this would be a good economical choice.

It says it will hold a 50 mm scope. Suprising it actually does. It protected gun very well. For the price its extremely good deal. I would recommend this to anyone that is looking for a scabbard.

Gunlock Scabbard

The gunlock scabbard worked well as it should.The scabbard could have been insulated more on the inside.Also the scabbard made quite a bit of noise when rubbing on brush,which I did not like at all.The cold weather seemed to make it more brittle. I used the scabbard to transfer my 270 in and upon arrival I had to resight in.The weapon was extremely bounced off.I do always check my weapon upon arrival but this was the only time my scope has needed resighting to this extreme.The fabrick on the scabbard was rubbed through in spots by the saddle by the end of my nine day hunt.All and all the scabbard done its job.If I could do it over I would buy a more expensive insulated scabbard.
