Traeger Texas Pellet Grill

  • Automatically augers wood pellets for precision cooking
  • Electronic Autostart
  • LED thermostat control
  • Huge 646-sq.-in. grill surface
Forget tedious fire tending and worrying about keeping a "just-right" temperature – the Texas automatically augers wood pellets to maintain the exact temperature you set. Designed after the traditional Texas-style wood cookers, it brings old-fashioned wood cooking into the 21st century with a precision auger-fed burner, electronic Autostart, multiposition digital LED thermostat control and EZ-drain grease system. A 646-sq.-in. (19" x 34") grill surface has plenty of room for full rib racks and roasts. Its 36,000-BTU output sizzles up steaks in minutes, yet tones down for hours of consistent slow cooking. All-metal frame, hopper and body with stainless steel top. 50-watt/120-volt electric burner. Wood pellets not included.
Weight: 137 lbs.

You know when you buy something and you know in your gut it's going to deliver on all the promises you'd been told. I'm here to tell you, this thing delivers. I decided on the Traeger after years of using an old side-by-side smoker, so I'm no rookie when it comes to smoking meats. Smokin' is all about low and slow and I think a little R&R as well. You simply cannot beat the ease of use. Plug it in, set your temp, add your meat, drink some adult beverages, and in a few hours you'll have great BBQ.
One of the things that surprised me was how little pellets it uses. I figure this thing would 'burn' through them, but that is not the case. Probably because of how tight the lid sits to the main body is my guess.
I'm telling you, do yourself a favor and go buy one. With hunting season around the corner, you'll want something new to do with the meat. You cannot go wrong with this thing...
