We purchased this grill to go along for camping, but I know I'll be using it just as much at home. I read all the reviews here and other sites, and read all the instructions, and still had the heat too high for the first steaks. I did have it heated up pretty good for the first time though. Medium to Low is all you need, which saves on propane too. I did line it with tinfoil, we'll see how that works out. Hopefully cleanup is easier. Cabelas had the best price around, and of course adding Cabelas points is a win-win. All around looks to be a great grill, hopefully we'll be enjoying it for a while.
The Road Trip grill handles a ton of camp cooking duties by providing a stable, wide cooking surface. I regularly use this grill on multi-day camping excursions, which leaves more time for adventuring than battling non-starting or flimsy grills. It's like having all of the luxuries of grilling on a big grill found on most back decks at home, but yet small enough to travel to the campground or the backwoods campsite.
I have been wanting to buy this grill for years! Its is extremely portable, well built and does a great job of cooking! I even bought some accessories (like the griddle and the wire burner) so I am ready to rock and roll!
I received this as a Father's Day gift from one of my daughters. This is a terrific grill. But DO NOT GRILL ON THE HIGH SETTING!. If you set it as medium or lower, you can close the lid and get wonderful results.
I took this grill to 7 U-Michigan taligates last year -- cooked everything from breakfast burritos to Italian sausages to Asian Chicken. Everything came out well. I lined the grill with aluminum foil, which made cleaning easy.
I recommend the stove grate (made coffee, and eggs in a cast iron skillet on it) and the griddle grate.
