Tailgating/ Smoking/ Grilling Dream
Date:
I bought this kamado because it would not break from constant tailgating abuse and accidently discovered a great product. It is fantastic at holding a set temperature and is very stingy with lump charcoal. This makes it a great low and slow cooking machine. Briskets and pork butts are now a breeze. It can get really hot, 700 plus degrees and grill steaks with beautiful grill marks. I'm actually considering buying another one. Do yourself a favor and research this product. It will improve your outdoor cooking and smoking.

Awesome Grill!
Date:
Had this for several yrs as the Big Steel Keg (bought right after it was the Bubba Keg). Awesome grill, wife commented on how much better food is. Durable in Norhtern MN (versus other clay komodos).
Cooks low ALL day without adding lump...incredibly fun grill. Smoke ribs, sear steaks, full beer-butt turkeys/chickens, pulled pork/brisket...does it all.

Don't hesitate
Date:
This has to be one of my best purchases ever, and I recommend this grill/smoker/oven without reservation...it is very well built, well conceived, and will bring your food to a new level. Without starting a war with the Big Green Egg folks, this compares very favorably, and most BGE accessories work on the BKK as well. As with all kamado style grills, there is a slight learning curve for temperature management, but once you learn how to bring the grill to temp consistantly, you will master cooking in little time. It will cook a pork butt at 200 degrees for twenty hours on a single helping of lump charcoal, act as a wood-fired oven for cooking the best pizza ever, or sear a steak at 800 degrees for two minutes. This was formerly called the Big Steel Keg, and there is a lot of good advice out there on using this grill. I rarely give such glowing praise for products, but in this case, it is appropriate. Well done OMC and Cabela's!
