The world is at your fingertips with the reliable touch-screen technology of the streamlined Oregon series. The rugged, waterproof touch screen simplifies navigation with its one-touch user interface that doesn't use any hard-to-see buttons or cursors. By shedding traditional controls, the Oregon series is extremely lightweight and simple to use. New user-friendly programming also means you don't need to be a topography expert to find your way. Digital Elevation Mapping shades map elevations, allowing users to easily pick out a real-world point-of-reference based on the altitude differences depicted on screen. The built-in Routable DEM basemap navigates you around the world. Improved, high-resolution 400x240-pixel display generates detailed map images. Wirelessly exchange routes, tracks, waypoints, geocaches and images with other GPS units. Fix your position quickly with the pinpoint accuracy of the high-sensitivity GPS receiver. The Oregon can save 2,000 waypoints, 200 routes, 10,000 track logs and 200 saved tracks. Store your favorite maps with 850MB of internal memory and generate 3-D maps. Expand the unit's memory with a removable micro SD card. Monitor weather conditions with the barometric altimeter. Get a quick directional fix with the electronic compass. Displays pictures from your micro SD card with the image viewer. Download new data from your computer easily using the included USB cable. Runs on two AA batteries (NiMH or lithium batteries recommended, not included). 18-hr. run time.

can't live without
Date:
I am a forester and this is an amazing tool. I use it every day for work and for recreation. Great applications for hunting and fishing...it is an amazing tool. You can create custom maps for field use, and I use it in conjunction with an aftermarket mapping program where I can load USGS maps and aerial photos. I have used this tool extensively for close to a year, and it is bullet proof. No Problems, and it is very user friendly. It's not rocket surgery!

Good Product

Excellent GPS but eats batteries like candy. Definately use quality rechargables with at least a 2500 or larger recharger.

NORMALLY NOT MUCH OF A GADGET MAN BUT THIS PIECE OF EQUIPMENT IS WORTH WRITING ABOUT.BOUGHT IT MOSTLY FOR HUNTING THE BREAKS AT FORT PECK LAKE IN MONTANA.I SPENT THE EXTRA HUNDRED BUCKS AND GOT A CHIP THAT SHOWS ALL PROPERTY LINES AND BOUNDRIES AS WELL AS ROADS,TRAILS AND A GOOD TOPO MAP.THIS WORKED VERY WELL FOR STAYING OFF OF PRIVATE PROPERTY WHICH IN MONTANA CAN BE A BIG PROBLEM.ONLY DOWNSIDE IS IT EATS BATTERIES,EVEN DURACELLS,LIKE THEY WERE FREE.I WOULD ALSO RECOMEND GETTING THE 450T FOR THE TOPO,WISH I HAD BUT THIS IS MY FIRST ONE SO LIVE AND LEARN!
