I have bought 2 different goose calls in my life. My first one was a Knight and Hale call and I had many problems with that one. I ended up throwing it out because it was so useless. Then, I saw this one on Cabelas and it was cheap, so I thought I would give it a try. Ever since then, I have had three of these calls, not because they have broke, but because I have lost them. This call is easy to use, and sounds like the real thing. If I continue to lose calls, I will continue to buy this call time and time again because it works so great. It's durable and it's worth your money. Shoot, I wouldn't be surprised if someone was just stealing my call because this product works that nice...
easy to blow and if you find it hard to blow this or other short reed goose call, learn how to blow a short reed, IT'S YOU, it's not the call that you are blowing, if you have trouble like it's hard to blow or you need more air to make a decent honk, just shave the reed little by little until you have it to your liking, and if you put the reed where you want it on the gut, if you have the reed show a little or show more, try not to push the wedge in tight, it will have a high pitch to it, if you put it a little lose it will have a low end to it, try to put it in the middle, you'll see what i mean, i hope this info helps other's, because no call maker or who teaches about tuning a short reed EVER mentions about the wedge on the short reed or how tight or loose it has to be, cause i've haven't seen any yet
