This stuff is great, and works as advertized. With lung shots, you almost cant tell if you hit lung because the blood repels from the feathers. Application can be messy if you are not careful, the powder is so light you can blow it all over the place by breathing on it. The powder also sticks to the shaft. Best thing to do is brush the excess off with a small soft paint brush. Wear rubber gloves when applying, because it makes your hands waterproof as well. I don't like vanes, but I also don't like when the feathers lay flat in bad weather. With the powder the feathers seem to stiffen up a bit and hold there shape better, a plus if you have a high speed bow, or want optimum steering for big fixed blades. I have used the same 2 arrows for 8 deer this year and the feathers are in perfect condition!
I had tried everything on the market to waterproof my feather fletching on my arrows and nothing ever worked. I was always worried about my feathers laying down during the rain while on stand and effecting my accuracy. Gateways feather waterproofing powder works like rain on a freshly waxed car. The rain literally beads up on the feather and the fletching never layed down or split like they do when they are wet!! This is a must have if you use feathers. Lightweight powder does not effect accuracy!
