What great feeder!
Date:
Great feeder for the price. Easilly assembled and durable. Nothing beats a 12 volt motor to throw feed and the divider lets me feed high protein feed and corn without mixing in a bucket. The ladder beats the heck out of trying to climb up and down a 6 foot ladder with 50 lb sack of feed on your shoulder. PLus this thing runs for 2 months which means I dont worry when I cnat run down to the ranch!

Feeder Flaws
Date:
The ease of loading the feed was a good concept. The access to the hopper is a good feature. The main reason I purchased the feeder.
I staked out my two feeders with T posts to anchor it down. Unlike a tripod feeder, Hogs were able to get under the leg brace and lift up the feeder. The result was the feeder ended up on its side and the hogs nearly destroyed it.
The hopper and lid took a real beating. It took me a while to straighten it out where it could be used again. The metal for the hopper and lid seems soft and easier to bend Vs a 55 gallon drum.
In hind site, using in an area where hogs are present, I would either use a tripod feeder or use a bobwire perimeter to keep hogs away from the feeder.
Another issue with the construction is the feeder is not as stable as I would like. The feeder "rocked" when I went up the ladder. I added two angle braces on the leg to stiffen up the feeder. That helped.
Before I would recomend this to some one else, I would like to see the metal be a better grade, the design changed to stiffen up the legs.
