Works in warm weather when doubling up on the solar charger in series to charge the battery or just the timer will drain it. I added the zapper and would not last a week.
Corn kernels do freeze in the funnel with snow and ice, so have to devise a way to protect it with a shield of some sort.

I puchased the American Hunter RD Pro Feeder Kit
form Cabela's in Kansas City. The service I received fro the store employees was very good. The feeder has performed very well. I have pictures of groups of deer coming into the feeder has large has six in one group. I would recommend the the unit it is an excellent buy for the price.

This is the second RD Pro feeder that I have purchased. I purchased the first one about 6 years ago and I ran it about 6 months every year with the original battery. I could see after 6 years that it did not sling feed as far but expect that is the fault of the old battery. The battery manufacture recommends replacement after 2-3 years. The feeder itself was going strong until a deer panicked while feeding under it, hit the tripod and knocked the whole feeder with 200 pounds of grain crashing to the ground. My new tripod now has feet that are secured to the ground and all of the pipe junctions of the legs are drilled and secured with pins. Cheap insurance.

The best feeder out there

I have owned this feeder for almost four years and have had it running non stop for periods of up to two years. It has not failed me yet. Except when a bear ripped it to pieces. So I bought another one, no problem. You won't be disappointed.
