This call is LOUD to bring them in from great distances. Low-pitched and raspy call imitates a jackrabbit in distress. Two metal reeds and a laminated barrel.
I've been calling coyotes for over 20yrs, and the Primos double reed calls (Jackrabbit and cottontail) are the best I've ever used.
The Double Jackrabbit has incredible volume and amazing rasp. You're still able to bring it down to low volume with good control, then push it up to ear splitting volume without distorting. The rasp on this call is scary, when played correctly, the desperation, pain, and squeal of this call will make your skin crawl.
The laminate bodies look great, and offer top notch durability. I haven't kept track of how many dogs have met their demise coming into this call for me over the years, but it has definitely earned, and defended, it's spot on my lanyard. Far and away the best factory made jackrabbit distress call I've ever heard.
First day i used this call we called in a total of 6 dogs in 4 stands. First stand, we called in two pups and killed one. kept calling after the shot and mother came in and we shot her. third stand of the day i called in my first triple! only one dog killed of the three because the wind was blowing. we call in this area often and they had been call shy from my other calls. very satisfied with call first time using it.
it sounded horrible i tried it with no luck gave it to a buddy that is an experience caller and he also had no luck... it sounded like a very metalicy party horn it is very loud like it says and is also very raspy but the sound doesnt sound good at all... get the primos ki-yi or lil dog both much better calls than this one.
