A quick, easy and inexpensive way to lift. The block-and-tackle hoist with 6:1 ratio (2,000-lb. capacity) minimizes the work involved in hoisting big game for cleaning and cooling. 60-ft. polypropylene rope is rot- and mildew-resistant. Assembled and ready to use. Gambrel is constructed of solid steel. 500-lb. capacity.

HD hoist and gambrel

I have had one of these for a few years now and am VERY pleased with it. This season I hung two large does on it at the same time without any issues at all. It wasn't to test the set up, I just needed to get them off the ground to keep them away from the neighborhood critters that might have wanted to snack on them overnight. I do all my skinning and butchering with the deer hanging right on this exact set up. Couldn't beat it unless you found something better than 6:1 ratio pulleys to make it even easier to lift.

Just received this item. Bottomline: Unknown capacity! Although the description says 800 lbs. for the gambrel, the packaging has a sticker neatly placed over that number and instead advertises 500 lbs. So, this is probably great for deer but anything bigger and you are using at your own risk.
