I am a hard core any weather duck and goose hunter. I have looked and researched all the top brands of waterfowl jackets price included. This jacket was my first choice but the price was hard to swallow so i bought a other brand jacket. I tried it on and new instintly it was not the one. So i returned it for my first choice by then it went on sale my lucky day this jacket fits great and is the shell is stonger than the other brand Dr-ke. The only thing i would change would be the cuffs they need to be neoprene, and drain holes in the pockets. As far as the size i am 6'1" and 240 lbs the 2xl fits great with room for an extra layer when it gets around zero. Lesson for me is do not compromise your gear for price this jacket will last for years who knows maybe i will pass it on to the next gen. Trust me when i say you will not regret buying this coat take the plunge and let the games begin. Take'em
A friend of mine told me about this jacket. So I decided I would give a chance for the random weather that comes about in Texas. It turned out the be the best jacket I have ever owned.
I purchased this waterfowl jacket to complement my neoprene waders. The jacket length is perfect to be worn over waders. I recently duck hunted in temperatures in the 20's with howling wind and sleet and the jacket kept me totally warm and comfortable. The size was perfect for me and did not in any way impede my ability to swing on passing ducks. Although some of the other reviews suggested that the jacket should have neoprene cuffs on the sleeves, I wore the cuffs over Goretex gloves and did not have a problem with moisture migrating down my sleeve when I pulled the velcro on the cuffs tight. As ususual, the jacket is another excellent Cabela's product.
The front pockets are too shallow and my shells fall out. The tiny snaps can't be found when you want to button them. They need to use velcro. The jacket would be wonderful if the pockets were better thought out. Every time I bend over I feel shells falling out of the pockets.
