Went through a wide range of weather this season, from near 80 degrees to low teens. From a mild all day soaking rain to near flash flood rain conditions. Hunted at least three days a week from the beginning of bow season until close.
Pros: Waterproof - 5stars - I know it's billed as rainwear but still really impressed with the dryplus lining's ability to keep the rain out, even the all day soaking rain. fairly windproof - 4stars - not billed as windproof but it did a very good job of blocking negative temp windchills. does not attract burrs - 5 stars - I think I only found burrs on my pants twice throughout all my trekking, and those were easy to brush off. warm - 4 stars - for a non-insulated jacket it was surprisingly warm. I wore only this and a lightweight base layer for a still hunt in the low teens and sub-freezing windchills. I was cold but it was bearable. With a fleece layer I was extremely comfortable. Quiet - 3.5 stars - not as quiet as straight out fleece, but much better than others. Very good for a piece with both a scent layer and a rain layer. tab at back for license - 5stars - Must have item. You don't want to create a spot of failure in your rainwear.
Cons: Breathability - 2.5stars - Does not breathe as well as I hoped (in comparison to Gore-Tex linings). Had a sidearm tucked in the pants and after a long hike back to the truck I noticed it was covered with moisture. pockets - 1 star - needs more pockets, especially an interior pocket
Overall very pleased with the product. I purchased this along with Cabela's Rain Suede series to see which one I liked better. The Rain Suede seemed to be cut as a more "premium" piece but it collected more burrs and made significantly more noise than the Revolution Fleece. The noise factor sealed the deal for me and I returned the Rain Suede outfit.
Wore this jacket this past fall during bow and early muzzleloader seasons. Performed very well! Kept me dry during the rain showers that always happen. And is very good at being windproof. Perfect for those days that you don't really need to have insulation to keep warm. Size is right on the money. The only thing I would like to see is an inside pocket. Other than that, It's an excellent choise for the early seasons!
The Revolution Fleece Scent-Lock Realtree AP Uninsulated Dry-plus Jacket and pants combo is an excellent choice for a variety of hunting types. It served me well recently on a sheep hunt in B.C., as well as archery hunting here in Pa. However, during our Pa. Bear season, we had a soaking all afternoon deluge. I had my Browning Gore-Tex Pants on, as well as my Revolution Fleece Dry-Plus Jacket. The Gore-Tex pants never leaked, while the Dry-Plus soaked in some water at the lower sleeves. The shoulders did stay dry, just some wet lower sleeves. In summation, the Dry-Plus works well, but it is not a 100% substitute for Gore-Tex during an extended rain storm.
this Jacket is great, before using it deer hunting, I tried it out on wet morning turkey hunting. It kept me perfectly dry and warm, but was still comfortable when I was walking around for a few miles calling turkeys. I would recommend it highly.
