Based on reviews, I bought one size larger and they fit well. Used the gloves on an Elk hunting trip in Colorado. It was 15-20 F, snowing, and windy. The gloves kept my hands warm and dry.
I agree with the reviews stating the trigger fingers are not well insulated. However, it's a trade off. You can either have well insulted fingers or better dexterity. I personally prefer having less insulation and being better able to manipulate things without taking my gloves off. When I'm sitting waiting on game I simply keep my hands in my jacket pockets.
Although I am a hunter, I primarily bought these gloves to provide warmth while I am running my snow blower. When it's cold out, my hands get frozen. These gloves are really nicely constructed, and pretty warm though not the greatest. BUT...my issue (and hopefully helpful to others) is that they are cut WAY too small. I bought an XL (which I normally wear in everything pretty comfortable, or just a little big). These are tight. That was a shock. So tight I have to return them for the 2XL model. I'll keep them, but would have liked to know that ahead of time. I hope the bigger ones fit better.
I had the original Whitetail Extreme glove and really liked them. When it came time to replace them I went with the new "II" version, as they look even better than the original... Wow...What a disappointment... The first thing I noticed is that both of my trigger fingers got cold FAST! It doesn't feel like there is any insulation at all in the trigger fingers(obviously an effort to keep the size of these fingers to a minimum) but not long after that the rest of the fingers are frozen as well. These are the least warm gloves I have ever owned. Also when they get cold they get noisy, you can hear some type of plastic liner rustling about inside... Not recommended...
I was disapointed with the performance of these gloves. They are well constructed fit good, look good and I like the over all design. The 300 gram insulation on the back and the 150 gram insulation in the palms are warm. The fingers however were not. My fingers were numb in 30 minutes in 35 degree temp. I expected better performance for the money. P.S. If you pull your fingers back into the palm they will stay warm that way but not in the fingers of the glove.
