Bought this after the 2010 deer season so had to wait until this past fall to try it out. Well, 2011 deer season has come and gone in PA and I have to say that this coat was awesome. The many pockets let me leave my pack at home. The combination of size and zippered vs. snap closures give you great flexibilty. The large zipped pocket in the rear of the coat is great for larger items. I could even get my tree stand harness in there, but it was tight. Overall it was warm, functional, and waterproof. Some reviewers have said it is loud when rubbed against tree or brush. It is not. Couldn't ask for more.
Purchased for stand hunting in northern Michigan, long sits in extream weather. Although a little heavier just zip out the inside liner when walking, & replace when on stand. This set up by far is the best hunting jacket combination I have ever purchased & I have been hunting for 40 years. Plenty of deep pockets & the two way heavy duty zipper are a great plus.
This coat is the last coat you will need (for awhile). I have been wanting to get this coat for a year now. And I am glad I got it. I weigh about 160 lbs. So I'm a smaller guy and need a good coat to stay warm. This coat performed awesome. I hunt in Northern MN for whitetails in november, and it can be 35 to -15 deg rain or snow and this coat did great. No complaints at all. very good gore tex keeps you dry and the coat is very warm. well worth the money
I READ SOME REVIEWS AND THERE WAS SOME CONSERN ABOUT NOISE. THE LINER SOUNDS NOISY INDOORS BUT IT IS NOT ONCE OUTSIDE. I REALIZED IF IT IS 30 DEGREES OR ABOVE THE LINER DID NOT HAVE TO BE INSTALLED (WOW DID IT GET HOT)..... I LOVE ALL THE POCKETS AND THE FLAPS ON THE HOOD WORK GREAT ON COLD MORNING ATV RIDES TO THE STAND. IF YOU CAN GET IT ON SALE ITS A GREAT DEAL.
