I am torn by giving this a 4 star review. Honestly this deserves a 4.5 out of 5. The quality of materials is excellent! The it is very evident that a lot of time was put in with the design of the product. My only suggestions with the design of this product would to put in leg zipper vents for when you are moving. These bibs get warm and stays warm. If you plan on walking while hunting this may be too warm for you. I ordered this from the website without seeing the product before seeing it. I am extremely happy with the quality! However, I do not like the appearence of the Realtree AP on the fleece material. The fleece makes the camoflage appear blurry and loose definition and the colors appear lighter in the fleece areas. There are reinforced areas on the the knees with another type of cloth that make the camoflage look more defined and darker than the fleece areas. I don't believe that the effectiveness of the camo will compromised though. Also, I bowhunt in cold weather. The thickness of this pushes the limits of bulk for archery when teamed up with the matching parka, so I would recommend that you get the pants and not the bibs to keep the bulk in the belly & chest to a minimum. This gear is definitely for cold climates between 0-40 degrees. Not for the early archery season!
I was in the market for some cold weather gear and had it narrowed to the MT and the Superslam. The recent special online pushed me into the superslam and I was not dissappointed. The temps were in low 20's and mid 30's with non stop sleet. I was more than warn (had to open top to let out heat) in nothing more than long johns and Scentlock base gear underneath. I have the bibs and overalls and there is no shortage of pockets and available pouches for misc. gear. Great buy and deal from my #1 outfitter. Great hood and at no point was I cold in the 20 mph winds and rain.
very warm bib, would not recommend if walking long distances. take them off and carry . down fall is leg zippers aren't long enought. can not take off or on with boots.could use double fly on front zipper so you could open from bottom also.
I bought these bibs at the end of the 2010 hunting season and did not have a chance to use them until the 2011 season. Overall they are manufactured well, very comfortable, fit nice and are not too bulky. I would prefer the adjustment buckles to bite to the strap better as they tend to relax a bit. On the positive side, the buckles are comfortable even with little to no underlayering. Used them this season on a few occasions and they kept me warm. I even had to drag a deer out (alone) and to my surprise I was fairly cool, even with temps in the mid to upper 40's. I would recommend these to other hunters.
