Rain Suede has been a Cabela’s staple for many years. Our Rain Suede, with Evolution fabric, takes the original and makes it even better. In order to even consider replacing our original Rain Suede, the new fabric had to be perfect. Evolution was that fabric. It’s softer and quieter than our original Rain Suede, but retains the same exceptional breathability of the original. Plus, the microdenier polyester allows camo patterns to print with extremely vivid detail that never fades. The shell fabric is backed with 100% waterproof, breathable Dry-Plus and has an EcoNano™ durable water-repellent finish, which keeps water rolling off the garment, even under extreme pressure when kneeling or crawling. With just a few quick shakes and a couple "brush-offs," the fabric is as dry as when you started the day. It’s your first line of defense against all types of moisture. You can wear it in a downpour and it will be ready to wear again the next day without having to run it through a dryer. Evolution is also extremely versatile, so one investment will see you through multiple hunting seasons. Because the fabric compacts easily, each piece can be rolled and stuffed into its own pocket for storage. Moisture-wicking mesh liner provides next-to-skin comfort. Three-pocket design includes two zippered front pockets as well as a zippered rear security pocket. Knee-length leg zippers with snap-close storm flaps. Double reinforcements at the seat and knees. Elastic waist with belt loops. Imported. Sizes: S-3XL. Fits inseams 29"-32". Camo patterns:Realtree AP™, Seclusion 3D® Open Country®, Seclusion 3D®, Mossy Oak Break-Up® Infinity™, Outfitter Brown™, Mossy Oak® New Break-Up®, Mossy Oak® Treestand®.
I bought a set of this parka and the pants to match. Before I ever used it in the field, I put the pair on and had my son turn the water hose on me. Not one drop got in. I still use this set and it still keeps me dry. Down side. The zipper is made of plastic and broke the first year. I just use the snaps now, but if you want to stay dry, this will do it.
If all you want is great rain gear, this is it! Sheds rain well, keeps you warm and dry, fit is great, dries very quickly, and pockets/zippers are well designed...but if you like to be quiet on your hunts, look somewhere else. Purchased these to replace my old gear (lasted 9 years before leaking) and wore them on their first, very rainy, Alaskan hunt this past week. As long as it was raining they were great, but when the rain stopped you couldn't sneak up on a def man in a soundproof helmet. When its liner rubs against the outer shell it produces a rubbing/squeak sound that almost seemed as loud as the occasional broken stick, and was often louder than the brush I was walking through. This forced an adjustment in walking and speed, and was only partially overcome when moving at a snipers speed (tested, not maintained). Even in a tree stand, any movement/adjustment made noise. Fantastic rain gear, but I cannot recommend for hunting (unless it's pouring rain). Especially for those living/hunting in areas like here, where rain pants are used even when it's not raining (because the brush doesn't dry out between rains). Would've given it a 5 star if not for the excessive noise.
I wore these pants photographing birds on the Tundra in Churchill Manitoba, having to knell of lay down on damp and wet areas and the pants stayed dry and dried very fast. I would recommend them for anyone involved in outdoor activities
These pants kept me dry during a snowy/rainy Elk & Whitetail season. Dry clothes = Warm clothes. So, I never got cold on a tough cold hunt. However, they were pretty noisy going through brush, trees, and moving in general. They aren't "silent" for sure. The camo pattern is brilliant, and I even had a few hunters pass by me without ever noticing me tucked in to the trees. (Seclusion 3D). I'm sure if I had moved, they would have heard me though. But even in a pouring rain, my hunting pants underneath were dry and warm. The ability to open the legs with snaps and zippers were a great feature to take them off in the field over my hunting boots. I would still love them to make a waterproof clothing that is quieter. Much quieter!!!
