This is simply an excelent lure. As I learned, there is some work required to set the hook, but once you figure it out, you will not find a better lure to bring in the bass. If you cast as poorly as I do, you will be more than happy with how well this lure keeps you safe. I have landed in trees, moss, weeds etc. a couple of tuggs and you are back in the water. Once in the water, strike after strike. Before I figured out how to set the hook, I tossed in in the same area and got more than 20 hits. They can not stop themselves from hitting it.
After looking at the Spro Frog, the Tru-Tungsten frog, and a bunch of others, I bought this kit from Cabela's. I've used Scum Forgs and Snag-Proof frogs in the past and was never impressed with their floating abilities or toughness. WOW! Not only are the hooks on this frog super-strong and super-sharp, but they are positioned perfectly to be 100% weedless, and still easy to stick bass with. This frog has excellent hook-up ratios and I caught 12 bass up to 6 lbs on one frog last weekend, with no tears, rips, or damage to it. It's still in perfect shape except for a bit of paint missing on the weight. The frogs keep water out and float great. Cabela's has a winner with this bait and I will definitely pick up some more. For the price (I can get 6 frogs for the price of 2 "name brand" baits), you simply can't go wrong! If you want to get some frogs to try out this season, these are your lures!
