A must have
Date:
I have purchased several types and never been satisfied, they break or don't grip enough. These work on hard ice, even on sidehills. So far they have held up wonderfully. This year has been a record holder for ice. It rained on 6" of snow to make everything ice. I have not fallen once!!!
I made one modification to ensure I would not loose them in a crust. I put on the arch straps from an old pair of Yaktracs. If you are looking for the best traction on any type of surface, or using them for winter hiking thru the woods, these are what you are looking for. Pay the price, they are worth it!

Good So Far
Date:
I bought these with some anticipation since I have big feet. The rubber binding stretched over my size 15 Danner GTX hiking boots easier after a few times out.
And, I have been pleased with their performance on the trails and open ice. The initial sturdy build may have some weakpoints. I like the wire cable with the diamond-shaped beads as they act as limited slip with just enough give so as not to tear apart under my large frame. They did start to rust after a few weeks. The other thing has to do with the grommets where the cable hitches to the rubber. As long as they hold, I can offer a very positive recommendation.

Works as Adverstised
Date:
2nd year with these and they are holding up well. I take them off when I leave the ice. Walked all over clear black ice on Onieda Lake this year as we have had no snow, never slipped once even in high winds.
Easy on and easy off my size 12 boots. The cleats have a wide coverage area so every step gets a good bite. Other cleats I have used do not cover the surface area these do, I am glad I bought these.
