150 Pound Meat Scale 9 volts. I found this scale to supplement my meat processing. It is ideal for its intended use and measures accurately as described in the literature. You must remember it measures in 2 ounce increments, so if you\u2019re adding spices, it is better to use a scale such as a postage scale or similar product which so happens to be offered at Cabela\u2019s.
This does a really good job of accurately weighing the meat that I require it to. We made almost 200 lbs. or processed deer this year, and this worked great. It does not, as was said before, weigh when just a little bit is added at a time. However, if you add something and then pick it up off the scale, let it re-zero, and then place the item down again it will pick up the differences and weigh the correct amount.
May work for some, but not what I was looking for. Everything gets a bad review from some one and I usually ignore them but this is a poor product. I process a few hundred pounds of meat each year making sausage and jerky, I wanted a scale that I could add meat slices (jerky) to a pan until I had the desired amount of meat laid out. Adding one slice at a time the scale sometimes would not read the change and after approximately 90 seconds (give or take 30 sec) the unit would shut off as I am continuing to add more and more meat. I returned the first one sure that it was defective only to find the second one did the same thing. I tested the second one constantly adding a weight and removing a weight and sure enough it shut off while in use. It seemed to be fairly accurate however to use it you will have to turn it on and reset it every couple of minutes regardless if it is in constant use or not. I am glad Cabelas is hassle free when it comes to returns.
For the price this is an excellent product. You won't find many digital scales that will go up to 150 pounds for this price. The accuracy is VERY good for anything over a few pounds which is exactly what I would expect from a product like this. If you want something that will measure accurately below that get a second, smaller scale!
This unit is ideal for anyone who makes larger quantities of sausage, bacon, meat, etc and needs to carefully measure out quantities. I use it to weigh slabs of pork belly (3-6 pounds) and tubs of cubed meat for grinding (10-50 pounds). Couldn't be happier.
For weighing out 12 grams of instacure? Get a small kitchen scale!!
Lastly, the description has been updated to show that the increments are 2 oz, not 1. Again, perfectly accurate enough for larger measurements. A scale that is more accurate will cost you 6X or more.
