A sturdy blade

It feels to me as if the blade is held closed magnetically which must be overcome at the first push on the thumb peg,. I'm sure this isn't so, but it feels that way to me. Since the blade has ambidextrous (sp?) pegs, i've found the best technique is to use both thumb and forefinger -- one on each peg --, push to get the blade started, and then give a quick wrist snap to get it fully open and locked. I'm hoping reps plus a bit of mineral oil will help.
