This knife has been fantastic for the 12 months I've owned it. I worked in a warehouse where cutting cardboard, opening boxes, cutting plastic off of wood crates and it's proven it's worthiness w/o flaws. I CAN open it with one hand unlike some of the other reviewers. Right-hand palm open, the tip of my middle finger to the bottom of my palm is 7.5". I'm right handed; resting in my palm and putting my thumb on the opening tab, I'm able to swing it open using my thumb only. And if you're coordinated you can press down on the locking mechanism on the right side and close it as well. On mine, if you open it a little bit you can actually swing/flick it open if you're very careful and quick. I can't say enough about the Remix, as to my log in to purchase the mini remix as a bday present. I have the serrated version and absolutely love it; Thank you Gerber and Cabela's. Cheers
This is a great looking knife in the package. It is advertised as a one hand opener which it is not. That is unless you have a robotic hand. The knife is very stiff to open it requires two hands. There doesn't seem to be any way to adjust the stiffness. I have lubricated with no change in operation. I have emailed Gerber customer service to see if they had any suggestions. Several emails have gone unanswered. Gerber, can you hear me? The problem seems to be in the drag of the lock. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions or if Gerber finally answers perhaps I can change this recommendation. This is a space age looking knife with a buckboard locking system.
