Got these for my 17' Jon boat that we use on the Mississippi River for duck hunting and fishing. The seat height makes navigation in shallow water much easier. They also make those long early morning runs down river much more comfortable.
I just purchased this seat even if the hinges were plastic I believed the reviews I read. I did not realize the back sits you so far forward that after about one hour my back began to hurt. I had to swap seats with my son who was sitting in one of my old Alumacraft seats. I did not realize the undeside of the seat did not go all the way to the front. This makes it impossible to attach my trac loc chair slide to the bottom of the seat. If it could be attached the front of the seat would be ripped up by the slide. Very disappointed. I will try to bring up the front and hope it will make more comfortable.
bought three of these made in the usa seats to replace the original seats in my 1987 lund rebel pike (lund red) fishing boat. i bought the red and grey to replace the lund all red seats and the colors look like they were made for my boat.the seats mounted right up to my springfield pedestal seat bases and were a breeze to install. there is a lock tab to hold the seat back down in the stowed position when trailering the boat that's not the handiest but is not too bad to get used to.the construction of these seats is very good quality and look like they should last. i looked at a lot of seats and the only ones i thought about getting other than these were the attwood centric contour. they were imported however and also looked a bit too fancy for my 24 yr old fishing boat. the tempress are good quality well built seats for the $$$$$
