Lightweight and portable, it’s the ideal target for hunting camp or backyard shooting. Its long-lasting multilayered density foam stops everything from fixed to mechanical broadheads, yet provides easy arrow removal. Four 18" x 18" faces provide ample shooting space for long-range shooting. 100% weatherproof construction. Easy-tote carry handle for easy transport and setup. Dimensions: 18"H x 18"W x 16"D. Weight: 18 lbs.
I bought this target with the mistaken belief that I could use it with broadheads and field points. This was completely my fault no one elses. My rationale was that if the target is rated for broadheads then it should last a very long time if used prmarily with field points. I shot one field pointed arrow from my 70lb Diamond Outlaw into it and on examination saw that it had penetrated so that about 8" were protruding from the back side. Then I tried to twist the arrow and pull it out. There was no twisting, no pulling or anything else. I am 6'2" and weigh 200 lbs and in order to remove my arrow had to sit down, brace both feet against the target face and pull as hard as I could to finally remove it. If you plan to shoot field points at all then you'll need a second target as I did or just get a different target to begin with. I ended up buying a Rinehart Rhino block that is simply superb. It can be used with broadheads or field points but is more expensive and worth every penny. If you will shoot only broadheads then the subject target is fine and the only complaint I have is that because of rather light weight tends to move around some when hit.
I've shot about 55 arrows so far (all broadheads) and I'm very pleased! No tearing apart when arrows are pulled out. I had the layered foam target prior to this and it was falling apart after this many arrows. Looks like this Cabela's target is built to withstand a lot of use!
Only complaint (which is minor) is the handle is a simple thin plastic strap. A broadhead shot high cuts right through it and makes it unusable as a handle. This is an area Cabela's needs to improve on. I took the rope handle off my old target and attached it to this one. Problem solved!
I absolutley love this target it's not just for broadheads of course you can also use it for field tips. The only downfall is it is a little difficult to get your arrows out when shooting field tips but i did not try it with broadheads yet. But it is an awesome target
