The book was black and white. I feel this is useless for tying flys the idea of a different fly is color. Duh! The dvd was ok It could have had more fly tying and less talking.

I really liked it. The only bad part is that only a couple pages are in color. All of the fly patterns are western ones and there are no for minnesota. but all in all it was a goo book. in the book the step-by-step instructions were pretty good. if you are just beging to tie flys make sure you have a wide assortment of materials and wire and hooks. Good luck makeing flys.

Fly Tying Book

I didn't care for this book too much. Most of the book is in Black in white and its hard to get a real good idea of what color materials are being tied in. The DVD only shows a few flys and doesn't show all of the flys in the book. There is a couple of pages in the book that shows all of the finished flys in color but that is. I think this book would be alot better if it were published in all color pages and the DVD showed all of the flys in the book and showed step by step instructions on how to tie them.
