Cabela's Tying Kits with Vise and Tools

Refine your skills to become an expert fly tier with this kit and tools. Created for the beginner, the kit includes the necessary materials and a detailed instruction book for 10 patterns. The kit is available with tools, with your choice of a Cabela's AA or Master vise, hackle pliers, scissors and a whip finisher. Included in each are:
  • 100 hooks
  • Cement
  • Cyclops eyes 1/8 gold (10)
  • .020 wire
  • 70-denier black and tan thread
  • 140-denier black thread
  • Ultra wire (copper and red, small and medium)
  • Clear stretch tubing

    Fun way to get started

    My son and I have had fun with this kit. It has all you need to get started and is cheaper than trying to start with specific items. Tying flies is more fun than either of us expected.

    It had enough to start tying flies and learn how to purchase more of the right products. It got me going, and made plenty of flies. Totally sufficient for a beginner tyer.

    Basic Fly Tying

    For a beginner like me, this kit is a great place to start. It comes with the essential elements to get you started tying flies. A wide assortment of hooks and materials.
    The book provides instruction on techniques and a few basic patterns. I've tied and used several of the patterns in a local lake and they have proven quite effective.
    The kit came with a whip finisher included however there was no instruction included on how to use the tool. youtube does provide instructional video on how to use the tool.
    Also missing is a bodkin.

    Good Starter Kit

    Kit couold have a better starter book , Or atleast include a "part 1" with the customer able to buy the rest of a series if they wish. The book should talk about different ways to use/hold tools/materials, and maybe other equipment.
