Flies That Rattle

Tie some mono on these little rattles with a nail knot and then tie the other end to your hook, and presto you can tie rattling clousers or just about anything else. There aren't too many saltwater flies that don't work better with a rattle inside. Make a hole in the face of a foam popper body and epoxy them in there too!

great added attractor

I purchased the 4mm rattles to tie onto larger hooks for northern/musky as an extra attractor when fishing in stained water. The 4mm is a tad too large for 1/0 hooks, but I found them to be easy to incorporate into the tie nonetheless.
I tied them into the body on some ties and as eyes (which worked great) on others. The rattles are very inconspicuous on the finished fly and make a surprising amount of noise for such a small package.
