Don't know why it's called a "FLY" hook sharpener----it sharpens all hooks and is really handy with it's guide groove and clasp.

Hook Sharpener

These work like a charm and are just the right size to take along fishing or hunting. Good for hooks and knives or anything else that needs a point or edge. I have 4 of 'em.

Wish it worked as easily as it looks like it will!

Strangely, it is difficult to keep the fly from bogging down on the sharpener. If one doesn't do that, buy it.

I purchased this to hang on my fly vest and sharpen my fly hooks. This is a crude sharpener,,,will get the job done with time. When I fish, I don't wish to take a lot of time. I have had sharpeners in the past that did the trick. This one doesn't. Again, it will get the job done, but I wouldn't recommend this to a friend. Spend a little more money buying, and a lot less time sharpening when you are on the water. Two stars is listed as fair, one star is poor....I would call this 'below average' rather than fair.
