Each features light, all-aluminum construction, large arbor, quick-release spool change and a premium sealed graphite drag system. The innovative "floating tripod" drag provides the kind of smooth startup, consistency and power you've come to expect from reels costing three times as much. A machined ergonomic handle makes for comfortable retrieves. The entire reel is protected by a tough, nonglare titanium finish for enduring good looks. Includes a padded neoprene case.

The drag is nice and smooth. Had it out on Grand Traverse Bay for carp and it worked very well.

Decent Reel for Price

I've used this reel once in the field. My overall impression was that it was a decent reel for the price. I am not a huge fan of the pop out spool mechanism that Sage utilized for this model. It seems a little tight, and a little loose at the same time. I prefer the regular slide button to release the spool. It's more sure.

kind of fragile

I bought the 1850 model and used it several time without problems. I accidently dropped it on the river recently and the outer rim of the spool bent causing the reel to catch. Had to order a replacement reel. The reel is nice but a little fragile for my type of fishing.
