Outfitted with a Koyo™ one-way clutch and lightweight fully machined 6061 T6 anodized aluminum and ceramic coated bearings, this reel delivers smoothness, immediate engagement and durability. A cork/Teflon® drag puts the brakes on hard-charging fish. Mid-arbor design for less line memory and quicker line retrieval. Converts for left-hand and right-hand retrieves.

I bought this reel at the end of the season and only used 2 or 3 dozen times. It out preformed other reels I have used in the past. Time will tell if the drag will hold up but so far so good. This next season I will put it threw its paces with no worries. For the money you can\u2019t beat it. The wife gave me an x-tra spool for Christmas they change out flawlessly.

Redington Rise reel

I purchased this reel to go on my #5 fly rod and I was absolutely not disappointed with it's performance in any way shape or form. the drag worked flawlessly (several good sized bass gave it a workout) and the fit and finish are right up there with reels that cost twice as much. I'm sold on Redington products in general- the quality is excellent and the price is tough to beat.

putting the brakes on

This reel matched with correct rod and line really puts the brakes on those hard charging reds! I would like to get this reel in an extra wide spool for bigger fish and more line capasity. Lots of comments on the reel from other fishermen. Esp. as the Gulf sunset reflects off of it in the evenings! ....However a beautiful reel does not catch fish .....
