Galvan Torque Large Arbor Fly Reel – Black

The wide, large arbor spool and frame have a ventilated design to reduce weight. Drag system is composed of stainless steel, a self-lubricating bushing and state-of-the-art, heat- and wear-resistant thermoplastic material for corrosion-resistant braking control. Large arbor dramatically increases retrieve speed. Line is picked up much more rapidly than with a conventional spool and comes off the reel with less memory. Drag tension remains almost constant as more line and backing are pulled from the reel, thus reducing the chances of breaking off a big fish. Drag knob is solidly detented for precise settings. Safe for use in saltwater. Larger sizes are ideal for use with spey rods. Convertible right- to left-hand retrieve.

I have been using Galvan Torque series reels for years in a variety of sizes. They have never let me down and are just an incredible reel. The drag is powerful, yet extremely smooth. The craftsmanship is just simply outstanding as well.

I have the T4 in bronze and it smokes any other reel.........and I've got plenty of 'em from every maker out there. I have it teamed up a piece of 8' bamboo and oh what a pleasure to use. I have fished all over the mid-atlantic and mid-west for trout and smallies. Its been beat on everything from rocks to the bottom of boats and it always performs flawlessly.
Some equiptment I have used disappointed me and made me wonder where the heart and soul fly fishing had gone. Well, with this reel, it's back! I am back to enjoying my time on the water with a piece of finely crafted equipment....and it's exactly what fly fishing was meant o be.

I bought the T8 for saltwater fishing on the gulf coast. I caught a 5 ft alligator gar and several large redfish on my first trip with this reel and it performed beautifully. Great reel and looks cool too.
