UPG Double Wide - very nice fly box, but BIG

I received a UPG Double Wide fly box for Christmas. I liked it, and really wanted to keep it. It looks good, and it's obviously very durable. It's also watertight, and you can see the contents through the lids. Unfortunately, it's a little on the heavy side at 11 oz., and it's quite thick at 2." Because you can see through the lids, the space on the inside of the lids is lost for storing flies. It takes up a lot of space, so consider carefully where you will carry it before buying it. It would be a tight fit in a vest pocket. I would like to have kept it, but there wasn't enough room for it in my chest pack. I returned it reluctantly.

Awesome Boxes

These boxes are awesome. I was already a big fan of the original UPG boxes but the new ones are even better. The whole series is amazingly well thought out and fisherman friendly. I love the magnets and the microslits in the Midge and the DayTripper and the extra deep foam in the Streamer box to hold bigger hooks is a must have...why hasn't anyone else thought of that? Great Job Umpqua!! Now I have to try one of of those Doublewides!!
