small bug luggage

Bug Luggage is a very good product. I like the elevated foam fly stations although flies smaller than size 16 don't really fit. For really small flies I stick them directly into the foam. I bought the small box because I wanted something for attaching to a lanyard. It has a hole for that and is a comfortable size for wearing on a lanyard.
If I were making my own customized box for use with a lanyard I would make it a small bug luggage but with a magnetic strip for size 18 and smaller and maybe a compartment for small indicators and some split shot.

I love these Bug Luggage boxes.

What do I love about these boxes. Generally they are slim, fit easily into a shirt pocket or a vest pocket. I use the different size boxes depending on the fishing session, small creeks, fast rivers. The different colours mean I can sort flys into boxes and be confident that I can grab the right box at the right time. The soft plastic fly holders and plenty of room between the flies means I can get my fingers in without pushing and shoving at other flies.

Baby Bug Luggage Fly box

I also have three of the trout size Fly boxes and really like them. The baby bug size is perfect for fitting in the small upper pockets of your vest or even your hip or shirt pocket. The individual slots make for easy fly selection and protect the hackles of your dry flies. A little hard to open unless you hold the bug logo side on the top then pull up.
