Maxima Fluorocarbon Line

A blend of low refractive material with non-flash components makes Maxima totally invisible to fish in the water. A new polymer structure enhances the sensitivity of the line and gives Maxima extraordinary castability. The special finish is additionally treated with a UV-protection extending the line's lifetime. 200-yard spools.

"Experience Keeps a Dear School...
Date:
...but a fool will learn at no other." Nineteen years of fly fishing on the Kenai Peninsula has taught me that a loop to loop connection between different sized lines when constructing a down tapering leader is the key to avoiding the problem of fish breaking off during a fight due to knot failure. I use a figure eight knot to form the loop at the end of each section of line and loop the formed loops together. The figure eight knot in itself is a loop knot. Sections of line that may be nicked are also easier to replace using a loop system. The Palomar Knot is rated at 100% knot strength and is the knot I use to tie my fly onto my tip tippet. And I use a Double Palomar Knot on my hook attachment when fly fishing for Chinook or King Salmon. My buddies and I only use Maxima lines and leaders here on the Kenai.

I am an avid fly fisherman and have used many brands of tippet material. Maxima Fluorocarbon is the best I have used. It does not fray like many Fluorocarbon brands do and has excellent knot strength. Break offs are almost a thing of the past. It's all I use and have convensed many of my fishing buddies to use it also.

Works in Saltwater
Date:
For whatever reason, this is by far the cheapest 40 pound fluorocarbon per foot, and I have been taking it to Mexico for several years. We use some as leaders on the trip, catching yellowfin tuna, jacks, dorado(mahi-mahi), snapper, pompano, and other bottomfish up to 80 pounds. Since the price of fluorocarbon leader is so high in Mexico, the remainder is left each year with the captain. He uses a lot of 40 pound fluorocarbon for leaders, and he is quite happy with the breaking strength, abrasion resistance, and difference in catch rates compared to monofilament. I especially like getting 200 yards of 40 poundMaxima line for the price of 100 yards of other 40 pound fluorocarbon leaders.
