Berkley® Vanish® Fluorocarbon

Berkely's new Vanish line represents a break-through in fluorocarbon lines. Berkley's scientists have altered the molecular structure of Vanish fluorocarbon to create a line that's virtually invisible in the water. It is extra sensitive to detect bites, yet offers shock absorbency for fighting power after the hook set. Also the soft, low-memory formula casts easily, making it ideal for both spinning and casting reels.

Note: Due to the stiffness of this line, the manufacturer recommends using 17 and 20-lb. line on baitcasting reels only.

This is some of the best fluorcarbon line I have used. I usually use 17 or 20 lb. test on my baitcasting reels. The first time I used it, I was in the back of my buddies bass boat. We were using the exact same lures and I was out-catching him 3 to 1. He was using regular mono instead of the fluorcarbon. He switched before we went out again and this time the catch rate was much closer now that we were both using the fluorcarbon line. I would recommend this to my fellow anglers.

12 lb for Eastern Oregon Stealhead

Every year I hit Eastern Oregon for a couple of days of Spring Stealhead fishing this year was no exception. I have tried several types of lines over the years and this was the first time with the florocarbon line.
likes:
great flexability, low memory ment less reel tangles and great castability. The stealhead were not biting well this trip. Most folks we taled to and observered didnt catch a single fish. Both me and my father were using the same 12 lb line and both caught a couple. so Id have to give the low vis a thumbs up.
dislikes:
line had a lot of stetch ablity which didnt affect hook set but did affect the line after snagging up.(we stealhead fisherman do that alot)
Abrasion resistace : I could see small stringers of line comming off of the main line due to contact with the rock bottom althought it did not ever seem to cause an issue with premature breakage. All and all I gave this product a 4 out of 5 .

I can't tell you how many fish I lost before I wised-up & quit using this line. Ones I remember seeing were a nice walleye, and a small mouth bass of a lifetime. I had been thinking I was tying inferior knots. However, I always use the Berkley Trilene Knot or the Palomar Knot. The same knots my buddies use and they weren't losing fish like I was. I was the only one using Vanish, though. Either the knots failed or the line snapped. I threw this stuff away and vow never to use it again. Garbage.
