This float is ok, but it doesnt float much wieght so be easy on the shot. would not recomend this for use in anything that has much of a current, but it floats the micro jigs cabellas sells really well, just not what i ended up needing.
The nice thing about this type of float is that it is very sensitive and offers very little resistance. Light biters can't feel the tug of the bobber on the line and spit the hook.
Also works great for signaling 'lift bites', where the fish takes the bait or lure and swims towards the surface. Weight the float until only the red part shows above the water. If it disappears or the yellow part suddenly pops up, set the hook.
I've been using Thill Stealth floats for many years in sizes suitable for everything from 1/16-ounce jigs to 1/2-ounce sinkers on bait rigs. They consistently outperform every other slip float I've tried. Here's a tip: Instead of threading your running line through the hole at the bottom of the float's stem, thread a small barrel swivel snap onto the line and then clip the float to it. Not only does the line slide more freely through the larger eye of the swivel, but the snap allows floats to be put on or taken off the line without retying.
