Fish Cat 4 Float Tube

  • Fish remote waters more effectively
  • Adjustable-height stripping apron
  • Durable 500-denier PVC bottom resists wear and tear
  • Two large gear pockets with a beverage holder
This backpackable fishing platform keeps you higher and drier, so you can fish those remote waters more effectively. The Fish Cat 4 combines the fishability of a pontoon-style boat with the portability and quick assembly of a float tube into one innovative stillwater craft. Now you can move about faster than with a standard float tube, without the complications or large size of most boats. Two separate air chambers with tough vinyl air cells keep you securely afloat, while the foam seat keeps you comfortably seated in a higher casting position. Durable 500-denier PVC bottom resists snags, sharp rocks and everyday wear and tear. Two large gear pockets with a beverage holder house all the necessities and keep them close at hand. Fish Cat 4
Date:
I purchased this float tube a couple of months ago when it was on sale for a price I could not pass up. I will say for the money, this is a great float tube and I'm looking forward to using it this summer trout fishing in the high Sierras in California. The only thing I found to be a disappointment was the lack of a cup holder and backpack straps to carry when out of the water. From what I can tell, this is a great float tube for both beginners and advanced float tube fishermen.

Not worth it

This is my 4th float tube in +15 yrs. After giving the Fish Cat 4 a fair work out, I'm going back to a U boat style float tube. For the premium price, the Fish Cat 4 does give very good quality construction and extra floatation from the comfortable foam seats but you give up some basics. There are 2 beverage holders but no rod holder. It weights a lot more than the U boats. The stripping tray mounting system is a nuisance. The seats are slippery and there is no crotch strap. A 22" bass almost pulled me into the water because I left the tray on shore. The storage pouches are far too small. The slick bottom means you move around quickly - especially in the wind. The D rings on the bottom attract a lot of debris & have snagged my fly line when fish went underneath me. Does anyone carry the shoulder straps?

amazing

I bought this tube when i decided it was time to up grade from my old U shaped boat. Of course i had to take it out and try it the day i bought it, only trouble was it was kinda drizzling and a bit windy. I had trouble at first controlling it with a breeze of about 5 and gusts up to 15. but after a little bit i got used to it and had no trouble moving across the lake even against the wind. It inflated very easily and was easy to carry in even without the back pack straps. I have the foam seat and it was very comfortable. I thought i was sitting in an easy chair all day. I am a heavier guy, about 230 on a good day and i still sat high up on the water. I defiantly feel i have room to grow in this float tube. the best tube i have ever used and by far the most comfortable and portable. If your looking for a tube look no further then this.

the best tube for the best price
Date:
I have had or tried many other tubes. this tube for the price is the best tube you will buy. It is great for beginners or advanced flyfishers. its easy to store and more importantly it is the easiest to maneuver in the water. There are two variations of this tube, the deluxe has the blow-up back rest and seat and this model has the foam, i prefer the foam just because it wont deflate on you ever. the back rest is adjustable and comfortable to be sitting in all day. i have used this tube on big lakes and big rivers like the columbia. ( dont recommend big rivers for float tubes) I wont ever buy any other float tube than this one, and for the price you wont find a better one period. i have recommended all of my friends and family. There is no difference between this one and the deluxe model other than the deluxe models' seat and back rest are inflatable rather than the foam. if you dont want to spend the money for the inflatable parts or if you do, both tubes work equally well on the water and is more a personal preference. buy the tube, it wont let you down.
